How this index works

On Oct 22, 2026 the 2026 Bowman Chrome (September) index (BCB26) stood at 63.37 (Sep 2026 = 100), and one raw copy of each of the 94 cards it prices cost about $1,240 at eBay sold prices read on PriceCharting. It is re-marked every Monday and Thursday. 100 = Sep 2026, the set's release month; months before 09/25/26 are reconstructed from monthly price history, live marks since 09/25/26. This block tracks the class; it does not recommend cards.

$1,240 for one of each · 94 cards · 100 = Sep 2026 (release month) · live since 09/25/26 · re-marked 10/22/26 · ▼ -6.3% w/w

How to read the big number: it started at 100. 63.37 means these cards cost about 37% less than on day one.

This tracks prices — it doesn’t tell you to buy or sell. Cards are long holds, so the 6–12 month picture matters more than any one week.

Method. One set, one index. The universe is every card in the set; the basket is the cards that trade as ungraded singles — at least 6 clean single-card sold comps in the trailing 30 days to enter, 4 to stay. Price-weighted on the dated ungraded eBay sales SportsCardsPro/PriceCharting lists for each card (eBay only — no TCGplayer rows for sports cards), never asks. No caps. The index is the cost of one copy of every card in the basket ($1,240 today), indexed to 100 at the base month: a card's weight is its price over that sum and moves with prices, nothing is ever trimmed, and there is no rebalance — the top card is 10.3% because that is what the set is. (The 25% single-card and 5/50 group caps used Sep 15 – Oct 12, 2026 were retired on Oct 12: a set cannot trim a Charizard the way an ETF trims a position.) Level = Σ(sold mark) ÷ divisor 19.5675; entries and exits are logged divisor adjustments; reconstitution quarterly (first Monday of Jan/Apr/Jul/Oct, announced the Monday before). Release window: for the first 90 days after release (45 days left), a card that newly clears the screen enters at the next mark rather than waiting for the quarter — a new set's chase cards list their sales late, so a one-time screen at inception would leave them out; exits still wait for the reconstitution (52 entered this way so far, last 10/22/26). 3 of 97 cards are in the universe but not the basket — too few clean sales in the trailing 30 days at the last screen: Deward Tovar #CPA-DT, Enyervert Perez #CPA-EPE, Juan Rijo #CPA-JR. n30 is a liquidity gate, never a volume figure (the source caps its table at 30 rows, so an n30 of 29–30 means at least that many). September's 2026 Bowman Chrome: only the autos our Sep 9 per-card audit tags as a player's first Bowman autograph are in (97 of 104; no published checklist marks 1sts on auto lines); returning autos (Kilby, Quintero, F. Arias, J. Gonzalez, Parker, Doyle, Peña) had their 1st Bowman autos in 2025 products and are excluded here, not double-counted. Release-week supply is heavy, so the first quarter of marks reads the drawdown every Bowman product prints before the class sorts itself. Bid buttons are live eBay auctions on the exact card (verified title, soonest close with bids first, refreshed every 15 minutes) — bids, not marks. An index is a measurement, not a call. How prices work · every ticker.

Player break math · 2026 Bowman Chrome Baseball Hobby

What a player spot holds in autos

In a player break you buy one prospect's slot and get every card of his that the case yields. A 12-box case holds about 20.5 Chrome Prospect Autographs across 104 players, so any one player averages 0.20 autos per case, about one every 5.1 cases. Priced at his own sold mark, with numbered parallels at the tier ladder's multiples, that is 0.30× his base-auto mark per case. A spot that costs more than the figure below is paying for base cards, refractors and the long shot.

No auto of your player82%1-case break
No auto of your player55%3-case break
A /50-or-scarcer auto2.8%3-case break
Value in that tail31%of the expected auto value

Most spots come up empty on autos and a few win big: the average is carried by rare hits. The floor is his non-auto 1st Bowman Chromes, which come in every case and are not counted in the figures below.
