Green edge marks the side the row favors; on the sealed rows that is the cheaper entry. Singles are sold comps: PriceCharting completed sales, the median of the 30 most recent, window shown per cell. Sealed figures are live eBay asks on Oct 5, 2026, read through our comps endpoint with bundles, lots, multi-box and Costco two-packs, empty or opened boxes, accessories and Pokémon Center exclusives filtered out; counts are the listings that survived the filter among those the endpoint returned (50 per search, 32 for the Surging Sparks ETB search). An ask is what a seller wants, not what a box sold for. Index levels are sold-basis, 100 = each set's release month. ShopCardHub participates in the eBay Partner Network.

2 · What This Means

Read it as a holder, not a ripper

Prismatic Evolutions wins on every sold-basis row. Measured from each set's release month it has kept about 71% of its level against Surging Sparks' 66%. Over the eighteen calendar months both reconstructions cover, Jan 2025 to Jul 2026, it lost 19.1% against 32.8%. Its top three chase cards add up to $1,820.49 against $502.80, and Umbreon ex SIR alone is more than twice the whole Surging Sparks top three.

The case for Surging Sparks is price of entry. An ETB is about $15 cheaper at the lowest ask and a booster bundle about $19 cheaper. Its headline card, Pikachu ex SIR, sells in the low $200s, not four figures. If you want a 2024 Scarlet & Violet set with a recognizable chase for less money, this is it. The tape says it has been the weaker hold, not that it will stay one.

What the tape does not say. The two indices are built differently. PRIS25 is a chase index of 49 hits; SSP24 is a full-set index of 249 cards with a 25% single-card cap, so commons and uncommons dilute its moves. Read the levels as each set's own path from release, not as one scale. SSP24 has one live mark (Oct 4) and PRIS25 six weekly marks (Aug 24 to Sep 28); every month before those is a monthly reconstruction from PriceCharting price history on today's basket, not live marks (method). Both sets sit below their release month, so "held value better" means lost less. The sealed figures are asks, and only nine clean Surging Sparks ETB listings came back on Oct 5, so that low is thin.

If the question is which set to hold, the tape favors Prismatic Evolutions on the index and on the chase cards. If the question is which is cheaper to get into, it is Surging Sparks. Both index pages carry the full baskets: Prismatic Evolutions Chase Index and Surging Sparks Set Index.
