2026 Topps Chrome Formula 1 releases on October 15, 2026. That is the date on Topps' own release calendar and product pages; the distributors list the same day. A hobby box is 20 packs of 4 cards with one autograph. Topps lists it at $469.99 on pre-order. On eBay the lowest presale ask is $899.99 (16 live single boxes, Sep 27). Last year's box, $249.99 from Topps on release day, sold for a $974.50 median in early September (6 sales, Aug 30–Sep 9). 2025 Topps Chrome Formula 1 released January 22, 2026 at $239.99 a hobby box on presale and $249.99 on release day (Checklist Insider). Eight months on, this is its dated sold tape from SportsCardsPro — medians of counted sales in a stated window, the same basis every index on this site uses. It is the closest thing to a forward read on the 2026 box that exists before it opens.

The gap between Topps and eBay is the whole story on September 27. Topps lists the hobby box at $469.99 and eBay's lowest presale ask is $899.99, almost double. A presale ask is a seller's hope. Nobody has paid it yet, and no 2026 box has sold. If Topps still shows the box at list on October 15, a buyer paying $900 on eBay has paid $430 for not waiting eighteen days.
Last year's box did run. The 2025 hobby box went from $249.99 on release day to a $974.50 sold median eight months later. That is why the presale asks sit where they do. But 2026 goes in at $469.99, an 88% higher entry, so for the 2026 box to repeat the same path it needs the same run from a much higher start. We do not project that.
The value in this product is in the parallel and the grade, not the base card. Last year's Antonelli rookie is a $24.25 card raw, a $252.50 card as a refractor, and a $753.50 card in a PSA 10. The 2026 checklist marks one F1 rookie card, Lindblad's #12, and Topps leads with his Debut Patch 1/1. A hobby box gives you 80 cards and one autograph; the autograph and any numbered parallel decide whether the box paid for itself.
What we will do. The first 2026 Chrome F1 sold comps land two to three weeks after October 15. This page gets dated per-card medians then, and not before. Until that tape prints, every 2026 figure here is a list price or an ask, and the honest read is to buy at Topps' list if you can and to treat every number above it as a premium for impatience.
